ME (excitedly): How can they talk about remaking Poltergeist? It’s perfect the way it is. I don’t care if the special effects are dated.
COLLEAGUE: You’re probably right.
(Young, female co-worker walks by)
ME: YOU! What do you think of Poltergeist?
YOUNG FEMALE CO-WORKER: Older guys?
ME: ....
YOUNG FEMALE CO-WORKER: Why are you asking what I think of older guys?
ME: Not older guys. POLTER GEIST.
YOUNG FEMALE CO-WORKER: Whatever.
COLLEAGUE: Greg, tell me again how it is that you still have a job.
They are remaking poltergeist? NO! It is bad enough they are remaking Star Trek with a new Kirk. Next thing you know they will be remaking the Wizard of Oz.
How is it Young Female Co-Worker has a job? She seems dim.
They’re remaking Star Trek with a new Kirk? No!
Next please ask YFC-W how she feels about the pending documentary on the hot topic of ‘Troll 2’.
I’ll bet she’s very against ‘cold dudes’.
Polt her? I barely know her!
What about Bill Geist?
And who’s going to play the Zelda Rubinstein role? I think she’s one of those one-in-a-century actresses, with that freaky voice.
Matt Damon wanted the lead role as Kirk, but the director didn’t think he was young enough. He must be pushing 35 at this point…
I’ll have you know that little Matty Damon (he’s so small he could fit in your pocket) is an aged 37.
Also, there isn’t much of “Captain” Kirk yet as this is meant to be a prequel and taking place while they’re at the Academy.
The actor who will be playing JTK is 10 years younger than Damon, although not as young as the character will be.
